Satellite TV Offers Bob’s Satellite Dish» Bob’s Satellite DishWhen a satellite dish suddenly showed up in Bob’s backyard, he wasn’t seen for a few days, I had to satisfy my curiosity. I walked to their front door one day and knocked. A cheerful-looking Bob answered the door. “Fred, have you ever heard of satellite television?” Bob was beaming. “Yes I have. Did you have that installed?” “We certainly did!” Bob boomed, ” And you’ve got to see this!” Bob steered me into his living room and pointed to a silver box inside of his entertainment center. “Fred, right there is a Dish Network HD DVR 921 Receiver! It’s amazing!” “That’s great, Bob, but..” “Fred, this thing is incredible. I can watch regular old live TV like it was a DVD. Watch this.” He grabbed the remote control, pushed a button, and the television program froze. Then he pushed another button, and the program went in reverse. Another button, and I saw a replay of what was just on. I had to admit I was impressed. As I listened in amazement, Bob explained how he could record up to 180 hours of programs with the built-in digital video record and play them back whenever he wanted. He showed me how he could watch more than one program at once with the “picture in picture” function. Then he steered me into the den where he showed me the second television that was hooked up to the same receiver, but was showing a different program. I understood completely then. After getting the number of Dish Network from Bob, I rushed home excitedly. I have a satellite dish in my backyard now too. People don’t see a lot of me any more.
