Satellite TV Offers RV’s and Satellite Service» RV’s and Satellite ServiceQuestion sent in by Ted about Satellite TV in an RV Are there differences between home based satellite systems and those used in RVs? Any difference in costs, reception while traveling (not actually moving but in sites), hook ups, etc? Ted Hi Ted, The only difference would be: 1) Some states require a different dish for local channels. This dish is a Super Dish. the dimensions are just a little larger than the standard dish. So… if you are living in a state that uses a standard dish and you used that dish while traveling and traveled to a state that utilizes the Super Dish you would not receive local channels, but all other channels would be good. 2) You would need a try-pod for your travels for the Dish to mount to. Other than that the subscription, equipment and programming are the same. Hope this helped and if you have more questions let me know.
