I currently have Dish Satellite in my home. I want to add a TV to my office and connect it to the TV in my Family Room. I understand the two TV’s will have to view the same programming at the same time. That is okay. However, I also want to be able to change the TV station from both rooms. Is there a remote that I can use that will go through walls? Other options?

    Hi Chief,
This is an easy problem to overcome.

    You have two options:
Option 1) Dish Network has what they call the “Platinum Remote”. I have one of these with my DVR and it works great. To Get this remote, alls you would need to do it call DISH (the number should be on your bill) and they would send it to you. If i remember correctly they run about $49.00.

Option 2) IR Remote control Extender - The transmitter receives the infrared (IR) signals from your remote control and converts them into a radio frequency signal. This signal penetrates walls and is picked up by the Receiver.

The receiver then converts the signal back into an IR signal and sends the command to the equipment being controlled.

I have never used one of these, but from what i have heard they work great.

    thanks for posting your question,
    dave
