Satellite TV Offers Dish Network’s new hi-tech player and free HD Pak promotion» Dish Network’s new hi-tech player and free HD Pak promotionBeginning January, Dish Network introduced newest high-definition satellite television receiver, the DISH Player-DVR 942. Its uniqueness is based on the combination high-definition (HD) and digital video recording (DVR) together with the multi-room capability. It will become available for a purchase in first quarter of 2005, for an announced introductory MSRP of $749 (dish antenna and installation for new customers included). DISH-Player DVR 942 is a dual tuner that will allow you to view two independent programs on two televisions at once, one in high and second in standard definition. If you will record a HD programming, it will play it back in HD on the main TV in the house and in standard definition on every other TV connected. It can also record two programs in high definition simultaneously. It comes with a 250 GB hard drive - a recording capacity for up to 25 hours of HD or 180 hours of standard definition content. Most of the standard functions for this category of satellite equipment are of course included as well, namely Dolby Digital recording, picture-in-guide, name-based recording, DVR menu, parental control, electronic program guide. DISH Network is currently also running a special promotion offering new customers six months free of the HD Pak. Existing customers can get the HD Pak for 12 months for half off the price.
