DISH Network now offers existing customer upgrades. Retailers are not able to offer you these directly; however, if you contact DISH Network (call the number on your bill) they should be able to fill you in on the details. I believe the existing customer offer is called the DISH1UP Promo.
Generally you can upgrade receivers for free, depending on how they view you as a customer. They don’t believe that every customer is treated equally so they have to qualify you based on how long you’ve been a subscriber, how much you pay each month, if you pay your bill on time and so on. Through their algorithm they’ll then be able to let you know what an upgrade would cost you.
Naturally customers that have been with them for a few years and pay the bill on time are top priority.
