A few years ago i had a friend that was able to mix match DISH Network and DIRECTV Equipment. However, he was not always able to use all included features.
If you are wanting to switch your satellite service to Direct TV, you can get all new (up-to date) equipment including the satellite dish installed for free.
This way you can keep your Dish Network Dish setup and if you ever wanted to switch back, you would be all set.
